I’ll try hard not to repeat myself

But I’m drawing circles in my mind

And they all look like carousels

With riders racing for the line

I’ve all but given up

On every last one

They’re coming 'round the bend

And off they go again

I see wheels

With no roads

I see houses

Filled with ghosts

I watch the news

See only crime

I hear the song

But not the rhyme

I’ve long since given up the war
