It’s been 2 months

And the phone reception has been broken up, most of the time

Had a friend stay over last night, did nothing wrong

But, the company it felt right

We shared moments

And we had conversations about

About our place here

In the constellations

And I watched

The way that the sun lit her blue eyes

It’s got nothing on holding you

Nothing on being here tonight

Nothing on holding you

Nothing on doing what feels right

There’s second thoughts

On the tip of my tongue

Trying my best

To not let them overrun

What is holding you

Wanna know if this is a fire

And if it ever burns out

I know I need to learn how to change the patterns

And observe the weather come good here

Whether it’s for worse or better

I’ve seen love

That isn’t cupid, that isn’t blind

I need a partner in good

And not a partner in crime

I’ve read poetry and I’ve wrote it

Been prepared

And I have been devoted

I’ve been through every fucking reason that it wouldn’t work

The reasons that I could get hurt
