I had a long day working in my grocery store

It was around five o’clock, I couldn’t do it no more

So I decided to close the shop and call it day

I turned off the lights, washed my hands

I got outside and saw an old man

He was down and out, waitin' for me

He took off his hat, bowed his head

«I'm hungry, Sir"was all he said

Felt that kinda feeling, broke my heart

So I opened the door, said «What you need?

He looked at me and shed a tear

He took a few things, thanked me

Went out the door, prayin'

And thankin' in the cold rain

I opened the cash, took a couple of bucks

Put on my jacket and jumped in my truck

Rolled down the window and asked him where he wanted to go

I said, «I got some gas to burn, it’s you lucky day»
