The evening wind of October

Leaves a cold kiss upon my face

In silence and in solitude

I stride to take my place

Upon the Autumn Throne

Where broken spirits rest

I sit solemn and alone

Gazing to the west

Sunlight is leaving

I mourn her warm caress

And dread the growing shadows'

Encroaching loneliness

Gone are the roses of summer

But the thorns will always stay

Consumed by the emptiness

When all the lights have faded away
