Captivating my every thought

Longing just to feel your touch

Stirring on my inner fear

Are you ever really here?

You deceive

Untouchable, intangible

So close, but so far away

Impalpable, imperceivable

You’re just a mirage to me

Wondering, pondering, the way you smell

Will this persistent fear prevail?

Struggling, punishing, dying inside

Thoughts I’m hoping will subside

Stirring on my inner fear

Are you ever really here?

You deceive

Light rays bend across my mind

Thoughts array, like decoupage

Phenomenal, deceptive, wonderful lies

You cannot be a mirage
