Birds go south for winter, singers and swallows

Love goes I don’t know where, but I can’t follow

Cold night grips the city, tightly till dawn

Cold daylight without pity

On the sidewalks where the shadows are drawn

Over a thankful debris

Life is a quick croquis

Naked birches against white snow in the mountains beneath the moon

Black trees pointing skywards in accusation

Blue freeze all the way to the cosmic regions

All warmth has escaped earth and all love’s gone

Northern non-comfort;

cold winds bite
