There’s a cry form a young boy, in a city running wild;

There’s a cry from a mother, who just lost another child;

There’s a cry from a people, who have nothing more to lose;

Everything that they lived for, have been wasted and abused;

There’s a cry from a river, that has nowhere to flow;

And the pride of the river was lost so long ago;

And that cry is for a reason, that only heaven knows;

Where did they go wrong, how can we go on;

Only hope remains the answer.

There’s a man on a mission, there’s a desperate heart to rule;

He has love for the people, yet he calls the people fools;

He has guns for the people, on a promise yet to come;

So they kill one another, for a hope that never comes;

There are so many questions, when will all this trouble cease;

Like the war in Niger delta, would we ever live in peace?
