I took a ring around to Rosies, oh to make her mine

I had a photo in a locket and a made up mind

I’ve been with this little pixie oh for the longest time

Her parents answered the door

And said «She's out.»

I said I’d wait up in her room and they said «that's fine

She should be coming back from church, some time after nine.»

I picked a pocket full of posies oh to pass the time

Washed them down with holy water and some cheap red

I had to lie down on that floor 'cause that’s what somebody said

I put it in the picture’s fuzzy

It seems to be some kind of party

And everybody’s in from town

I thought I saw Rosemary fuck the devil
