There was a leaf

Chasing me, down the street

The cold air of winter

And all the houses were asleep

Their windows breathing deeply

Through the quiet of that night

It’s so sure I could hear the wind

Ordering more leaves to join the chase

Their rustling grew stronger and louder

Louder and faster until

Suddenly I was nowhere

The ground in front of me began to tear
