Bombardments hammer down

Howling of projectiles louder than the cries

I’m running alone

Fleeing from the soldiers — rebel groups alike

Surrounding our town

Killing the civilians — there’s no place to hide

No mosque — no playground

When torture, pain & violence become daily routine

My eyes have no more tears left — too much grief I’ve seen

The world is just watching in passive lethargy

Poison gas policy

Cruel interrogations, people disappear

War crimes, beastly

Many fled the country — millions like I’m told

Now I am one of them
