My dear lonely friend

I’m here by your side

The time we have to spend

The tears we have to cry

My most hated foe

I’m here with you at last

So let the hours flow

The witness of my fear

The envoy of confusion

Another dawn is near

Another disillusion

The early birds awake

With twitter of delight

One final step we make

And drown in morning light
