Sea Creature - spies

I was in an ocean on a mercury mixture

Filling my lungs, completely ruined

You were something mythical, never imaginable

Always desirable, softer than noon

I somehow trusted my desires again

Knowing their peace was like a restless child

I somehow trusted the stillness of a year

Like the stillness of ripples or the stillness of light

And by now all purpose and thought has dissolved in salt

Just to scale your invisible skin

Hiding beneath the waves and smiles and pleasant hand gestures

Was the dark figure forming beneath the boat I was in
