As Dark as This Nefarious Night - Singularity

As I wake in a cold and blackened cell

I sense a darkness never felt before around me

And I see what is me in a puddle at my feet

I am scarred, malnourished and deformed

A man he speaks, a voice across the cell

Turn around and gaze behind you

I turn towards the window and witness

A regiment of martian creatures

«We are the cosmic legion»

I was sent here to make contact

Now I gaze upon demise

These creatures, as dead as this nefarious night

The ultimate authority over living breathing flesh

As we have traveled through the void to destroy what you have made

The souls of men are in our grasp

For we are not afraid of death

I catch my breath

Upon the realization

That my loyal crew is well beyond the living

Then I see.

I must flee and escape this agony

I must not become this world

I am thrown into a lab

Impaled with needles

Extracting my mortal essence

The final element to this cosmic invasion:

A cloak of human skin
