I was focused on the fractals when you asked me

Shall I count the ways an organ grinder finds to play that thing brand new

Every single day

Violet by any other name

But in this place it’s by any means

Shadow dancing with infrared beams

Into the seams, into the cracks, into the places we can be unseen

And we thought we could get away clean

But those blue and reds

I count the walls and windows, see the ceiling feel the floor

But I don’t see a door

So easy-out is out then

I’ll start counting up these fractals

Amounting up these actuals

Tagging up these tangibles

But how to count the waves

I’ve been around to see some cycles

Seen a silhouette of silos and some polarizing primal

Let me say I’m sick of grey scale

I’ve met some bitter rivals

Too intently down their rifles to spot the better angles

Met some enterprising angels

They were synthesizing rainbows

Unabashed in their dayglow

I could just bask in

I could just laugh into these spaces I can’t see

Between my skin and clothes

Between my teeth and ghost

The hidden folds between the sand and beach

How to count the waves
