Feral - Seeming

I was sharp as brambles

Strong as oak

When you killed my mother fox

She was twitching, mangled

Still in smoke

When you pushed me into your box

And then you taught me all your language and legends and laws

Then you sent me to a school, told me not to shout

Put a knife and a pencil in my champion claws

Your doctors poked in my ears and mouth

But I bare my teeth 'cause

We did the talk show circuit

I wore a suit

They called me a foxhole hermit

Until the vein on the neck of that TV hostess

Rushed like a river beneath spring ice

She asked my name, I said «I'm ferocious»
