First Night - Sebalter

No moment is better than nowto

write poems: the first night of this year

Between regrets for things we could have

done, and good intentions we won’t realise

The moon knows I am not joking with you and she is not jealous

She might be feeling a bit lonely though, I know what it means

Wish I could promise you that we’ll be still here

When the last star is getting too tired to shine

Still be here

When the colours of the last sunset are fading away

Me and you in this twilight

I’d love to say that we will walk forever

Climbing up the stairway of the time

It is just a maybe but I am sure I won’t be a November leaf

In your memories, and you in mine

Maybe somewhere somebody is going to remember me and you

Maybe somewhere somebody is going to tell

the story of me and you, like a fairy tale

And now we are here in the dawn of another year

I don’t know if I will be able to look after you forever

I’ll be sincere I am a bit afraid, we are just skin and breath

So I cannot promise you that we’ll be still here
