Oh, what’s happening to Christmas, the giving from the heart?

Now we give what only have pocketbooks allow

The kids who should be getting love will get a chemistry set

So, we put it in our shopping bags

And hurry home to rest

It’s just one day till Christmas as I hurry to the store

The holidays are different and their meanings, I’m not sure

I’ve worked so hard the whole year long to purchase happiness

To buy a pair of socks

Last year, we gave him a tie

And the shirt we bought the year before his size

The snow upon the ground was once a joyful sight to see

But now it’s inconvenient to have snow beneath my feet
