Night devour Earth

Winter wind blow through the land

Cavalcade of spirits

Sweep through where we stand

Ride with them

Through night

To see

The Sun again

We wait for them to visit our heavy winter sleep

The spectral riders of the wind

Whose shadows veil the Earth

On the longest night

But you mistook their cold eyes for starlight

And you mistook their breath for the wind

And you mistook their skeletal limbs

For the branches of the trees

But the wind is not the only howl

And the trembling leaves on the bare branches

Are not the only dead things that move

Take flight now

With the host of the dead ones and the dreaming ones

Fly across the land

Fly into the night

Fly into the darkness

And the icy, freezing starlight
