I am waiting to see the sun

Alone I stand with no one near

I am counting the stars one by one

Drawing maps of the atmosphere

Working my way through the maze

As I’m fighting off the fiends

Seeking the unknown

Finding footprints inside the untold

I now bare this weight on my own

Making haste before my fear takes hold

For every second lost

I am fighting to bring

The pieces back in place

I plunge into the unknown

Afraid to open my eyes

I can hear the devil inside

Mocking me and telling lies

From this battle I cannot hide
