Honey Bee - Mayfly

There goes the honeybee

Steps out of line

«There's got to be more to me»

Splits from the hive

Sees the stream trickling through time

When will it end?

«All the honey I’ve left behind

I wouldn’t live to spend»

The first flight of the bird

Stretches her wings

Can’t find the words

So she sings

Poor little honey bee

Tethered to time

«You've got to let go of me»

«I'm losing my sight»

Then she stumbles on lavender

Oh the softness of words

It’s the depths that give treasure worth

How lucky to hurt

One more flight in the bird

Hunger’s decree

Sees the lavender field

And the bee
