Shine down on me tenderly you bright night star

I know I can never be up where you are

Resting upon yourself in dark black light, all night

Content you beam, not like me I’m not one of your kind

On this sad day I’ve come where to watch you in the wonder of the sky

Hoping you might send and answer down your beaming light

Are you truly a stranger living up so high in the night?

Why do I look upon you with tears in my eyes?

I walk slow

Down where we’d go

Where we’ve gone for so long

Where you and I come from

The stars in the sky

They call my eye

I search but I’m not lost

I cry but it’s not wrong

And I can see so much

Much more than before
