I tried moving closer to the city

Thought maybe you would see me

More than once a week

A month, a year

Then I moved away quietly

Still hoping you would talk to me

Through the colder months of fall

But you never called

You never called

I’m driving around mostly

Trying to feel like I’m getting somewhere

But when I hear you on the radio

I feel like I’m nowhere at all

I know I haven’t moved at all
