Is this the end?

Is this the reckoning?

We’ve been gifted with time

But we are busy burning everything

We stare in the mirror, eyeing our face

Disregarding that this blurs the frame

We are distracted by the beauty of gods

A golden realm and a bloody cross

We’ve been taught in those lies to trust

So we cannot face the poison that’s us

When we hammered all our nails into sinners

And their black blood poisoned our rivers

When our cruelty is making us shiver

We’ll see an old man’s face in the mirror

Our eyes shallow our minds

Making us numb, turning us blind

We need love, trust, patience and time

To find the truth of beauty inside

As the euphoria starts to fade

The shame peels off our masquerade

We planted greed, watered with hate

What we harvest is a six foot grave
