Driveway - Larch

All that separates this space from the street

Is a thin strip of pavement and a few trees

Inside of that line everything’s fine

But outside it’s loud and I start to lose my mind

I think I’ll stay on the driveway

Where it’s safe on the driveway

I’m a shallow shadow in the dark

I’m the stranger that wakes your neighbor’s dog who barks and barks

It’s getting late on the driveway

I’m just a shape on the driveway
