I come up 'round the kind of company that was good to keep

I learned awful early to always say just what I mean

And in a world that’s trying to turn you into someone else

Well I found a way to be ok with being myself

Sunday ain’t the only day for praying

I just pray someday that I hear someone say

They heard me say something worth saying

I try to live by doing what I know to be right

So when I get to go the heaven I can look the good lord in the eye

That’s how I feel 'bout these songs that I play

You won’t catch me singing something that you wouldn’t hear me say

And that’s easier said than done
