I’m falling down and you’re still standing

We keep defying lift to drag

You rise to meet me in the morning

Here you are — your hand inside my hand

The sea is breaking on a sandbar

The rising and falling feels like breath

A plane has touched down in the harbor —

It comes together where it comes to rest

Now as I descend… here you are again

Who knows how long we shall be lifted

The runway stretches to the sea

Where wings are cast about like driftwood
