Devils Hand -

Sitting in the half light ticking off time,

There’s a lone tall man who is swinging a line,

And he’s picking at the threads, of my poorly woven life.

Tripping on sticks and treading on stones,

Walking all day down a long straight road,

Let me set the sails, on this cautionary tale.

I’m down in the dark but the devil you’ll take my heart.

Now I’m swimming in whiskey and drowning in sin,

Trying to remember where the hell I’ve been,

Lord hear my prayer, it’s like a whisper on the wind.

Now I’m crossing over lines to fine to see,

There’s a woman with the gray hair praying on her knees,

But I don’t have the words, to ask her why she’s there.

I’m down in the dark but the devil you’ll take my heart.

Now I’m swimming in the seas of a beaten heart,

Crawling over waves with my one good arm,

Swimming in the light, of an angel’s last known flight.

Now open up your eyes, open wide,

Listen to the words was all they cried,

Beating in your heart, pounding in your heart.
