falling the air is bright

waiting for sparks to ignite

and in the middle of the night

caught in your efficacious light

promised i’d stay awake

the endings more than i could shake

a thousand rainclouds all at once

try to decide your relevance

bought out but no one paid

thought out, you were betrayed

a sense of irony pervades

and you can’t find the friends you made

nervous in the car park

waiting for it to get dark

i made a mockery of myself
