And the light begins to fade

Blotting out all that life has made

Hear me now

The frame of my essence

Burns before my eyes

Under affliction’s curse

The spirit rots and dies

Never thought of a good reason

To exert my life for pain

Wicked vice I lay my life on

No ascendancy to gain

(In silence, I divide)

Forever lost inside my mind

Illusive walls that keep me blind

I always thought this life would be somewhat benign

But now it seems as though my flaws are my design

And now I know of all the imperfections

I have been given that are built into me

Handed down from generations of conflict

The very lifeblood of this child is at stake
