On the night

The moon struck my backyard

Followed by silence

And a deep desire to dust my chin with a finer ash

And the air got cold and the sky got dark

And I kissed your lips with the safety off

There was a flash of light

Followed by whiteness

And I held you there in the rose tint click when the street lights dim

And my eyes got black

And my breath got cold

And my eyelids screamed tight
