Yesterday will seem important

Seen through retrospective eyes

Tomorrow might just be sincere

If you respect how long we’ve tried

Feeling close to all the street lights

Distant signs highlight the way

The insubstantial red light greeting

Thank you I’ve enjoyed the stay

I’m still trying

You can’t see exactly what

It means to be alive

And if you ask why life is moving fast

Will you survive, will you survive?

All alone I walk the quarter

Sniffing out the sins and lies

Truly celebrating living

Trying way too hard to die
