Take me into your carved embrace

Creature, creature craving space

Tongue tied and cold and your eyes of stone

I’m merely a fool having missed it by now

Take me into your hiding place

Shadowed bird in a paper cage

A paper wall to block the sight

Stealing the view of the first daylight

Take me onto your stage of gold

Like a fool I fear what I do not know

And creature dear you could do without

The silence which hangs a weight from your mouth

Take me into your darkness deep

Where do you rest while your body sleeps?

Darling dear, we have yet to find

The way to bring out the child in your mind
