I woke up and wrote down my bad dreams

I wrote 'til the book came unbound at the seams

Page after page like a beating heart

Reading every letter 'til i’m falling apart

Gonna rip it up and start it again

Slip another story in the garbage can

I’m gonna open the book straight to the front

For the very first time I know what just what i want

When i lay it all down line by line

I know i’ll find a way to make it better this time

You left me when the story got rough

I gave you my all but it was never nough

Now the ink on the page is gtting lighter

And i feel like a key on an old typewriter

When you lift me up just to throw me back down

I know i got it better when you’re not around
