When you’ve got nothing but sand,

We all stop and stare at the sea sometimes.

I know for me, I just need:

To find some time to breathe.

To leave my restless mind behind.

Build what you will,

Every cup will spill.

Stand at the water’s edge proclaiming

Greatness and your life long remaining.

See time and tides compliance

In great old Ozymandias.

Because castles made of sand

Slip into the sea, eventually.

I’ve been walking circles around

Thoughts too cliche to speak aloud.

But they make the fatalist in me

Plant my feet where the sand meets the sea.

Like the forest for the trees,

Can’t see the water for the seas.

I’ll keep walking until the breeze

Stops pushing, wandering on as I please
