Pining for the seaside as the summer’s nearly done

I could spend forever soaking up that lazy sun

People of every shape and size, deckchairs and tea

Sand entered every nook of skin, permanently at the sea

Run into the stone cold water happiness abound

Children bury Granpa, Mother’s slowly turning brown

Clothes are discarded everywhere, wrappers and sweets

Sandwiches reek of egg and cheese, permanently at the sea

Driving home in Father’s Anglia scoffing fish and chips

Dreaming of the next day’s weather, praying summer bliss

And if the rain is pouring down we’ll still be there

Posing with hankies on our head, sipping our tea at the sea
