Abandoned by a man

The rains came

And swept away

This tiny little

Furry man

Swim Joe, swim away

You’ll be saved

Long hair and blue eyes

Adopted by a girl

Brought him home

Kept him warm

He was sweet

Seven toes and sharp teeth

Coming home

I called for Joe

He didn’t come

He doesn’t breathe
