try as i might

i can’t sleep at night

and you got it dude

i can’t stay awake during the day

to think about all the good things in life

when i get to sleep

can’t stop the nightmares

they haunt me the next day

i got a hillside in west virginia

waiting for me

to lay my naked body down in its grass

and i

got a wagon in oaklahoma

that’s what the oregon trail told me

though i never won that game

can’t stop the noise

the noise in my head

so i try to write it down

try to get it out

sometimes it works out ok

those days i feel pretty great

daydream about

a big slice of pie from texas

dream about the pacific north west it’s

weather is sposed to be pretty grey

but maybe i could learn to love

rain

rains here every other day

i try not to complain

maybe i’ll buy a pair of rainboots

and go outside someday
